Days away!
That's where we are sitting right now, just days away from the first of the Captain America related HeroClix of the summer. This Wednesday we'll see the 10 figure "micro set" of Marvel HeroClix: Captain America. and 2 short weeks later the full 60 figure set of the same name hits.
Personally, this will be my favorite set since the relaunch. It has some of my all time favorite characters in it. SHIELD vs. Hydra, Cap vs goons line Mr. Hyde and Cobra as well as classic uber villains Red Skull and Baron Strucker. These are the icingon my huge love of HeroClix cake! And, I don't care how crumby they work on the map, I'm using the Great Lakes Avengers!
Just days, folks! I'm finding it hard to wait.

BuyMeToys.com is moving to a new location.
Well many folks already know about this, but it should be shared anyway.
Starting this week, the University Commons is being partially demolished. The facade that faces SR23 will be torn down and the old Krogers will be coming down as well. This is all in preparation for a new medical plaza that will be built on this location. All of the current tenants are being forced into a very quick move.
Casey and Kelly Heying have already found a new home for their business, a bit higher profile but smaller in overall space. They new shop will be located at JMS Plaza on Grape Road, right next to Michiana Used media's brand new storefront, and the Sprint store.
574-271-TOYS
The phone number will stay the same, all web based aspects of the store will stay the same, and the dedication to the local comic, toy and HeroClix fans will remain the same!
Even though there will be much going on in the store, it will be business as usual. Comics will come in and be up on Wednesdays, special ordered items will be in on time (depending on Diamond and Alliance as always). But expect there to be a lessened "browsing selection" until the new storefront is open.
The last two HeroClix events for the short term will be the first two Sundays in November. After that the store will finish the move and open the brand new doors on Monday, November 22! (Yes, just that fast!)
As for HeroClix in the store. Expect that to start Dec. 1 with the release of DC HeroClix: DC 75th Anniversary Set.
I'll post a link to the official Press release when Kelly gets it out with more details soon.

(Updated 9/9/10) WoS Brick figure redemption site goes Live 9/9/10
UPDATE 10:18 pm, 09/09/2010
In a very open move, Justine posted that there would be a bit of a delay, so that all the kinks can be worked out with their distribution partner, Alliance.
Original Post
Justin posted a note today wanting everyone to know that the redemption site for the Web of Spider-man Buy the Brick figure will be active starting Thursday, 9/9/10.
this is to make sure that all stores in all regions have product to sell (and therefore UPC's for customers to redeem) after the long holiday weekend.
Head here: http://heroclix.com/buyitbythebrick/ tomorrow!

Here is a quick update on the redemption system. I am going to delay the go-live of the redemption system until I have a chance to a walk through with our fulfillment partners at Alliance games. Ordinarily, I’d roll the dice and kick the system live but on something as important as redemption, I would prefer to make sure all the stakeholders are comfortable with the system. A small issue can quickly turn into a large issue when 2000 redemption hit the system at once.Read the whole announcement, that includes a it about the return of setting us User accounts with Wikids, HERE.

A busy week worth of updates.
While I've been having a very busy time at both work and home (all very good, though), Wizkids has been dazzling the interwebs with a ton of news.
Information about the Watchmen set continues to come in from Wizkids and Alliance.
The Brightest Day set is coming at us (and is a mere $24.99).
And Web of Spider-man is coming down the pipes with a reprint of the Fantastic Four Starter wit the new updated rules.
For the tournament scene we have a big change to a strategy favorite Special Object Structural Integrity Field.
Plus, today We get an updated set of Players Guides AND our introduction to Alternate Team Abilities!
I would suggest that everyone planning on attending origins or Gen-Con study up sooner rather than later! (Very soon for Origins since it is NEXT WEEKEND!) Also remember that the Rules from Blackest Night as well ass the material from the Players Guide and the Print and Play ATAs are legal as of posting so keep that in mind at this weekend's events!
And about those ATA's look below!

Web of Spider-man OP Kit info
From Wizkids/NECA

So, there are 10 weeks up supported play for WoSM (even though the math ends up to about 12 weeks of 4 items awarded per week). With week 1 ostensibly being the week of 8/8 - 8/14 that only brings OP support into the end of October. I guess we'll see what is the plan for the remainder of 2010 and what the product schedule for 4th Q 2010 and beyond are.
Marvel HeroClix: Web of Spider-Man Organized Play Kit contains everything a retailer needs need to bring HeroClix players into their store for weekly events - including new limited edition figures, 3-D objects, maps and more!
Each OP Kit include prizes to run 10 weeks of events, with each week giving away prizes for 1st and 2nd place, a fellowship drawing, and a judge reward. A suggested schedule and format guide makes it easy for stores to run HeroClix organized play for the first time.
OP kits are intended for tournament play and NOT FOR RESALE.
There is a limit of 3 kits PER retail location. Each store location for a retailer must purchase the minumum specified below to qualify for the kits.
2 The Brave and the Bold Cases - 1st OP Kit
7 The Brave and the Bold Cases - 2nd OP Kit
12 The Brave and the Bold Cases - 3rd OP Kit
Each OP Kit Contains:
(contents subject to possible changes)
15 Limited Edition figures. All LE figures have different paint jobs from the normal versions of the figures! (3 copies of 5 different figures, each with character card).
12 3-D objects. All objects have a special game effect! (4 copies of 3 different 3-D objects)
10 Maps (24" x 36")
12 Alternate Team Ability feat cards (3 copies of 4 different cards)
1 Instruction Sheet

Blackest Night Shipping change
Due to issues with shipping, the Blackest Night Starter sets are moved back to June 9th.
Justin alerted folks to the issue yesterday on HCRealms
In any event, you can still see the pieces at selected venues in the area that received one for attending the Diamond retailers summit at C2E2 last month.

Hey everyone, I just sent a note to our distributors about a release date change.
Barring any additional shipping issues, The Blackest Night Starter will release on June 9th, 2010 vs May 12th, 2010. A sincere apology for the delay we're doing our best to mitigate any issues. I just sent out the note to Diamond/Alliance so stores should find out momentarily.

Holiday treats from Wizkids! Oh yeah, some news about some game too...
Wizkids' Website had a great message from friend of the game (and Wizkids honcho) Justin Ziran, just in time for the holiday.
Introductions, Updates and a Turkey
He covers the basics of what is going down at the new Wizkids HQ in Hillside, some insights into other product lines return, and potential new lines that may come from the union of NECA an Wizkids.
At the end of the article (really, go read it it full of good stuff) there is a fun little peice for folks to use at home: The Turkey!

This bird is a potent 5 poultry for just points. He possesses the Special Power Food Coma.
Food Coma (tryptophan) Turkey can use Incapacitate as a close combat attack targeting all adjacent characters. After that action resolves, deal one damage to Turkey for each character targeted this way.
That a good trick for just 5 points. Finding ways to maximize the effect the bird has on the battlefield could include adding something keep him from taking damage (like the Life Model decoy Feat) or controlling the battle field so he can spring his Incap attack on as many vulnerable foes as possible.
Wizkids used another popular information outlet, their Facebook Fan page (you're a fan of Wizkids, right?), the Turducken Special Object.
The Turducken (proof that Paula dean is in league with Dr. Doom) is an Immobile Object that can't be destroyed by an attack. But a character with no Action Tokens who is adjacent to the Turducken can be given a Power Action to remove it from the game. That's a power tool when fielding a Stealth reliant team (or to help counter the stealth of your opponent) bu having a piece of hindering terrain that can't be taken out of the game without sacrificing the action of a completely action token free character.
Check with your local Venues to see it they have ant events where these pieces can be fielded.
